Tournament Overview
The Gorilla Hoops Academy 2025 Youth Basketball Tournament is Uganda's premier basketball competition designed to showcase emerging talent and foster community spirit. This electrifying event brings together teams from across the Kamuli region for a day of intense competition, skill development, and unforgettable memories.
Our tournament creates a platform where young athletes can demonstrate their skills, learn from experienced coaches, and build lasting friendships. With competitive divisions for various age groups and skill levels, every participant gets the chance to shine on the court while developing character, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Age Categories & Competition Format
Girls Division
Ages 13-18
Standard basketball rules with full-court play. This division focuses on advanced skills, team strategy, and preparing players for higher levels of competition.
Boys Division
Ages 13-18
Standard basketball rules with full-court play. This division focuses on advanced skills, team strategy, and preparing players for higher levels of competition.
12 & Under Division
Ages 8-12
Modified rules with shorter games, lower hoops, and emphasis on fun and skill development. Perfect for young players taking their first steps in competitive basketball.
Tournament Schedule & Venue

Registration
8:00 am - 9:00 am
Registration, team check-ins, opening ceremony with cultural performances, and preliminary rounds for all divisions. Teams will receive official tournament gear and participate in the parade of teams.

Boys & Girls Competitions: Knock-Out Style
9:00 am - 11:00 am & 1:00 pm - 3:30
Intense single-elimination tournament play begins for the older Boys and Girls divisions, with teams battling through bracket challenges to advance.

Youth Division Competitions
11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Skills competitions including three-point contests, dunk competitions, and free-throw challenges during breaks.

Break for Lunch
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Enjoy a variety of refreshments and a chance to network with other teams and attendees.

Championship Finals
3:30 - 4:00 pm
Championship games for each division, awards ceremony, and closing celebration. Special recognition for sportsmanship, most improved players, and outstanding coaches.

Awards & Parade of Teams
4:30 pm - 5:00 pm
The tournament concludes with a grand closing ceremony, where individual and team awards are presented, followed by a celebratory parade of all participating teams.
Registration Information
Coaches! Register your team by October 31st - and it's FREE!
- Team registration: 150,000 UGX (Early Bird: 120,000 UGX)
- Individual player fee: 25,000 UGX per player
- Coach registration: 15,000 UGX
- Spectator day passes: 10,000 UGX
All fees include tournament jersey, participation certificate, meals during tournament days, and access to skills clinics. Team packages available for groups of 5 or more teams.

Grand Prize
Championship winning team receives Prize Pool swag bags plus individual medals for each player and coach.

Runner-Up
Second place teams silver medals, and commemorative certificates and recognition at the closing ceremony.
3rd
Third Place
Bronze medal winners receive commemorative certificates for outstanding performance.
Beyond prizes, all participants receive valuable exposure to college scouts, professional coaches, and potential scholarship opportunities. Special awards include Most Valuable Player, Best Sportsmanship, Best Coach, and Rising Star recognition.
